Color of Sound is a small musical game built around a simple idea: what if learning to hear music felt more like meditation than practice?
The screen is a circle of twelve colored notes. A bell sounds and one note lights up. Then another. You listen, remember the sequence, and play it back by touching the wheel.
There are no scores, levels, timers or written instructions. A wrong note simply causes the phrase to be played again. As sequences grow longer, the visual hints become subtler, encouraging the ear to take over from the eye.
Each new game quietly chooses a different musical world—a scale, key and rhythm—so the experience is never quite the same twice. The sounds are deliberately bell-like and spacious, with darkness and silence between them.
The aim is not to memorize music theory. It is to gradually notice relationships: higher and lower, near and far, repetition, return, expectation and surprise.
It is part ear-training game, part instrument, and part meditation.
Touch the center, listen, and follow the sound.
To try out the game go to Color of Sound.
Enjoy.
PS: Anytime it starts getting too hard, you can always touch the center to start afresh. The goal is to enjoy yourself, not to tire yourself.
PPS: On most mobile devices you can save a shortcut to the app on the Home Screen so you can come back whenever you want.
